Launched in 2014, Merchmaker's business model is simple.
- Acquire the licenses to sell official merchandise for the biggest names in sports and entertainment
- Supply top quality products at an affordable price
- Create tens of thousands of artwork/product combinations to give consumers real choice
- Utilise print on demand technology, so each order can be customised and personalised
- Distribute globally using local specialist manufacturers
Merchmaker's products range from apparel (t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and nightwear) to accessories (phone and tablet cases, mugs, and bags) and homewares (canvas prints, cushions and towels).
The quality of Merchmaker's designs and products is integral to our model, and our Product Development department sources exactly what consumers want from specialist suppliers.
The design process starts with the brand's own image assets and guidelines. Working with these, our in-house Creative team designs exciting artworks and customisation options that allow customers to make products their own, while retaining brand identity.
An exacting approval process follows, where designs are submitted to the brand and go through several levels of scrutiny. Only the best artworks are authorised, and move to the next step of sampling.
Printing the artworks onto the product range, we test both the quality of the print and the quality of the product. The process is repeated with each manufacturer in our network and samples sent to the brand for approval.
The Merchmaker platform allows any online retailer and publisher to sell personalised print-on-demand products for global household brands, direct from their own ecommerce platform, risk free. Merchmaker enables retailers to offer personalised products to their consumers without holding any stock, allocating valuable shelf space or purchasing products upfront.
Merchmaker is easily integrated into retailer and publisher websites, to offer their customers an official range of personalised print on demand products for global entertainment and sports brands. Fulfilled globally by local suppliers, Merchmaker's officially licensed products include apparel, giftware, homeware, accessories and stationery.
The Merchmaker platform comes with an intuitive set of personalisation tools that offer sophisticated customisation options to consumers, while protecting brand identity and designs.
This allows retailers to pick the brands most suited to their audience and offer tens of thousands of product combinations with zero risk, zero stock and zero wastage. While publishers can have their own fully integrated commerce platform retailing 100% official merchandise, without the expense and hassle of fulfilment systems.
Evode can offer Merchmaker's retail integration to any online publisher or retailer wanting to launch or expand their existing product range. And with our zero inventory, on-demand model, there's none of the risk associated with traditional ecommerce stock based systems and logistics.
Print on Demand
One of the most powerful aspects of the print on demand model, is the ability to use specialist manufacturers across the globe. An international network of suppliers mean products reach consumers efficiently, printing top quality merchandise rather than mass produced. To maintain these standards, we employ stringent quality controls, including spot checks, supplier visits, and health & safety checks, meeting ethical standards as well as quality.
Merchmaker works with over 150 suppliers around the globe, to offer over 130,000 product variations. All suppliers use market leading Aeoon or Kornit DTG machines, which deliver the highest quality print.
Products are only created once a customer has placed the order, enabling every order to be both customised and personalised to the customer's exact preferences. This delivers true choice to the customer of every character, every quote, every colour and every size from their favourite brands.
Evode has an aggressive license acquisition strategy, and aims to become the go-to platform for personalised branded products. The current range of licenses is:
- Liverpool Football Club
- Star Trek
- Power Rangers
- Paw Patrol
- Blaze and the Monster Machines
- Spongebob Squarepants
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Thunderbirds Are Go
